It’s hard to pick just one, so I’m going to pick a few. The students really like Forensic Science because they get to put on lab coats, lift fingerprints, extract DNA, collect evidence and test inkpens while trying to identify a prime suspect’s identity. They also enjoy Plastic & Polymers because they make glarch, golf tees and form plastic. Two more favorites are CNC where they drill designs on milling material and EP&M where they cook and eat solar hotdogs!
The students here at LBC like the Robots and the Energy Power Mechanics Module (that’s the one with the hotdogs).
Overall, I like the Physics Module and the Computer Animation module. The kids are now getting into the Computer Animation module now that I have added some posters with Japanese Anime around it. Also, I got rid of Gumby and Pokey and replaced them with Transformers figures and Batman and Robin figures (all from McDonald’s Happy Meals). Gumby and Pokey were popular in the 1970’s, so none of these kids have any idea who they are. With the McDonald’s toys, I can relate the module to Robot Chicken on Cartoon Network, which they shouldn’t be watching that late, but do anyway.
