Should Lab Students Join This Blog?
Facilitators -
I am wondering if it might not be interesting for the students in your labs to be able to share their comments and ideas with kids in other labs across the district? Do you want to open this question up to them and see what they think?

Please do not. I am a message board addict at home and am very aware of what kids this age post. Basically, they end up being “trolls” (look that computer slang up when you get a chance), and as the saying goes–don’t feed the trolls. Every board I love on the internet has at one time or another been infested by people to young or immature to post things that are acceptable.
We as facilitators could easily do monthly surveys on paper from the kids and post things we feel are worth addressing. We could even put suggestion boxes in our labs so the kids could remain anonymous. I feel that would help us see problems or issues we are oblivious to without opening up the board to misuse.

I agree we have to protect this blog from misuse. In fact, I just deleted 10 posts that were just random items. Does the requirement that I review everything before it goes up handle the problem?
